In the midst of monotony
There are splashes of color
In peals of laughter that echo
Across the wood floor
In the midst of anxiety
There is hope to be found in the trees
In barren branches laboring to bud
Against a perennial winter
In the midst of isolation
There are bonds being forged
In small bodies nestled together
Under warm blankets
Even in darkness
Beauty flickers on every surface
Like shards of light
Through a broken window
I only need to notice

Oh my, Jessica. What an absolutely magical world you’ve captured with these photos. The one with the kids on the fence!! The tickle scene! The proud Lego engineer! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you, Adrienne! I so appreciate that. And the tickle photos get me every time.
Beautiful, Jessica! I love the pictures, but I especially love the words. ♥️♥️
Thank you Molly!
Love this, Jessica! The pictures are beautiful, but I especially love the words. ♥️♥️
(I didn’t think my first comment posted so I re-commented – in case you were wondering why I said basically the same thing twice hahaha)
I love seeing all the color in your photos!
Thanks! Not much to be found outside yet, but plenty wherever kids and toys can be found. 🙂
I love your images, Jessica — especially all of the books and your family reading. 🧡This is something that changes so much over time, and I love documenting that too.
Love your photos, Jessica! Especially your family reading together and all of the books. This is something that changes so much over time and I love how you captured it. 🧡
Yes. It does all change so quickly! Thanks, Stephanie. ❤
These are beautiful. You captured your family so well!
Thank you, Holly!
beautiful!
What gorgeous photos of regular moments! (I think the diaper bum is my fave.)
That selfie of you in the mirror made me LOL. I think I have that same expression several times a day!
Beautifully written, Jessica!
Thanks, Holly!
You take such beautiful photos! The farm life looks like fun 🙂 And I really love the storytime! We have something similar going on in our house. I find myself reciting passages from Little Blue Truck far more often than I care to admit.
Thanks, Laura! And oh man, I could recite LBT in my sleep too. 🙂
